Sharon Rae has a B.A. in Theatre Arts and completed her dance certification at Kent State University. She also holds an M.S. in Sport Science & Wellness and a K-12 Teaching License. She has taught for the University of Akron for over 25 years, Miller South School of Performing Arts, Mount Union College, and owned and directed SharonRae Dance School for 35 years. She currently directs afterschool dance programs for Akron Public Schools. Sharon has worked with directors from New York City including Lyle Dye of As the World Turns, and Bob McGrath of Sesame Street. Her award winning choreography has been performed on the stages of Carnegie Hall in New York City to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. And she is listed in the Samuel French Library in NYC as the original choreographer of Happy Anniversary, Angel! Sharon Rae was named Ohio Dance Educator in 2004, and Midwest Dance Educator ofthe Year in 2005. She has presented workshops for various
dance organizations and many community organizations. Sharon has taught over 15,000 students the joy of dance. She is a member of several dance and social organizations, in which she has held many offices.
